Sharing the Beauty and Wonder of Art Journaling.

Anonymous asked: what kind of journal do I need to start with

This decision is purely a personal one. I started my first art journal in a plain$.50 Composition Notebook, then I moved to Moleskine, then to handmade journals (some with watercolor paper and some with other types of paper.) So it really depends on what you feel most comfortable with. A couple of questions to consider…what kind of paper do you need? Does it need to be able to take lots of liquid paints and watercolor or are you going to be doing only sketching or gluing?  Next, can you handle arting up an expensive journal? Do you need to keep it cheaper so you don’t hold back?  Only you know what you need…
